Technical Data

Colour Rendering Index (CRI) CRI measures how accurately a light source reveals the true colours of objects compared to natural daylight, which has a perfect CRI of 100. For example, if an object appears under a light with a CRI of 85, its colours will look about 85% true to life. A higher CRI means more accurate colour rendering. Therefore, choosing lighting with the right CRI is essential, with CRI 80 being the minimum standard.
Luminous Efficacy and Luminous Flux This relates to the amount of light (lumens) emitted from a light fitting in relation to the amount of power it uses to create this output. There are now regulations in place that state minimum lumens per watt criteria and any lights that do not conform aren’t able to be used in certain applications. Advice should always be taken to ensure that the correct lighting is used on any installation.
Beam Angles The beam angle of a light fitting allows the installer to determine the spacing of light fittings as to achieve the most uniform, consistent lighting onto the desired area. Most of our under cabinet lights have a beam angle of 120 degrees, which floods worktops and cupboards with light and eliminates dark spots. Perfect for creating a bright environment for tasks such as preparing food and cooking.
